John W. Noecker received his B.S. degree from The Ohio State University in December, 1962, and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University College of Law in June, 1966.
Mr. Noecker practiced law in Newark, Ohio with the McDonald Robison firm from 1966 to 1983, then with the firm of Morrow, Gordon & Byrd from 1983 to 1996. His practice in Ohio concentrated in the areas of real estate law (residential and commercial), municipal law, oil and gas law, probate law and estate planning. Mr. Noecker was also an agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company from 1971 through 1995, and founder and president of Chicago Title Agency of Newark, Inc.. Mr. Noecker served as Law Director for the Village of Granville, Ohio, from 1975 to 1985.
In 1996, Mr. Noecker moved to Greensboro, was admitted to practice in North Carolina and joined the firm of Hicks McDonald Noecker LLP. Mr. Noecker’s practice in North Carolina has also been in the areas of real estate law, including contract review and drafting, title examinations, closings and title insurance. His practice also includes probate matters, drafting of wills, trusts and powers of attorney, and estate administration
Mr. Noecker’s community activities include service on the Licking – Knox Counties (Ohio) Mental Health Board from 1983 to 1993 (president 1989-1991); Greensboro Center For Creative Arts Board of Directors, 1997 to 2004 (President 1999-2001).
Mr. Noecker is admitted to practice in the courts of North Carolina and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. During his Ohio practice years Mr. Noecker was a member of the Licking County and Ohio State Bar Associations. Since 1996, Mr. Noecker has been a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association.
